Skydance Paramount plans to initiate mass layoffs beginning on 27 October, removing approximately 2,000 US jobs within a expense reduction strategy valued at $2bn under top executive David Ellison.

These job cuts follow the merger of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed in August valued at $8.4bn.

More global layoffs are anticipated, with Paramount Skydance aiming to reveal full details during its Q3 financial results on 10 November.

Prior news stated the company aimed to eliminate between 2,000 to 3,000 jobs before the start of November.

As of December 2024, the company had almost 18,600 full- and part-time employees along with 3,500 project-based staff.

The organization has not yet commented on the matter.
